ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany community is mourning the tragic loss of 33-year-old Jabril Grier, who succumbed to his injuries following a devastating crash late Wednesday night. The incident occurred on November 27, 2025, at approximately 11:57 p.m. in the 500 block of the Liberty Expressway.

According to the Albany Police Department’s Traffic Unit, Grier was driving a Kia traveling eastbound when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The impact caused the car to come to rest, and it subsequently caught fire. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted to save Grier, but tragically, he later passed away from his injuries.

Authorities confirmed that the incident is under active investigation. Police are working to determine the circumstances leading to the crash, including factors such as speed, road conditions, and vehicle condition.
