Warren, RI — The Warren and Westport communities are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Zane Martin, a devoted Boilermaker Welder at Boilermaker Members Local 29, who passed away in a car accident on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Westport, Massachusetts. He was 36 years old.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a 911 call was made to the Westport Police Department reporting a vehicle off the road near 591 Horseneck Road. First responders found a 2018 Dodge Challenger overturned in the woodline. The Westport Fire Department extricated the driver, identified as Zane Martin of Warren, who was pronounced deceased shortly afterward. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit, in coordination with the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the Westport Police Department.

Zane was known not only for his professional dedication as a welder but also for his warmth, generosity, and sense of humor. Friends remembered him as someone truly one of a kind, always ready to lend an ear, offer a helping hand, or bring laughter into any situation.

A family member reflected on Zane’s impact: “You knew me before I even knew myself. You watched me run around the house in diapers, long before I had conscious memories. You taught me how to change my own oil, how to change a tire, how to drive a stick shift in that silly white Jeep you loved.”

Over the years, Zane nurtured deep bonds with family and friends through weekly phone calls, visits, and shared adventures. He was the person many turned to for comfort, guidance, and celebration. “You reminded me so much of Scotty,” a loved one shared. “You looked out for me the way he did when I needed it most. My heart is so heavy, and life won’t be the same without you.”

Beyond his work as a Boilermaker, Zane will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His life was a testament to generosity, care, and connection, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Loved ones urge everyone to cherish their family and friends, echoing Zane’s spirit: “Hug your loved ones. Tell them you love them. Make sure they know.”

Zane Martin’s life, though tragically cut short, will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community. His memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those whose lives he touched.

Rest in peace, Zane Martin. You will be deeply missed.
