Mentor, Ohio — The Mentor community is heartbroken to share the passing of Mrs. Laurie Eppler, a treasured friend, mentor, and former Vocal Director, who passed away following a courageous battle with cancer. Her life and work left an enduring impact on students, colleagues, and the broader community.

A Passion for Music and Students

From 2019 to 2023, Mrs. Eppler led Mentor High School’s musical productions as Vocal Director, bringing talent, energy, and joy to every rehearsal and performance. Her positivity and encouragement inspired students to reach their full potential, and she had a unique ability to connect personally with each student, nurturing both their skills and confidence.

Laurie’s connection to the program ran deep. She began as a student performer at Mentor High, later supporting her children, Sean and Caelyn, as a theatre parent. Eventually, she formally joined the production team with The Most Happy Fella, sharing her expertise, leadership, and passion with a new generation of performers.

A Friend to All

Laurie was widely admired not only for her professional contributions but also for her warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit. She brought light and joy to every rehearsal room, making everyone around her feel seen and valued. Her laughter, encouragement, and unwavering support left a lasting impression on students, colleagues, and friends alike.
