At just 18 years old, Drew was at the beginning of his journey, with so much life still waiting to unfold. His passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary moment can become a tragedy.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Ford Focus was traveling southbound on Interstate 94 when it struck the divider separating I-94 from the exit lanes leading toward Lyndale Avenue. Following the initial collision, Drew exited the vehicle. A short time later, he was struck by a Tesla traveling through the area.

Despite efforts to respond to the incident, Drew suffered serious injuries and ultimately passed away. His death has left a deep sense of grief among those who loved him and has undoubtedly brought sorrow to the Eden Prairie community.

The occupants of the Tesla, a 21-year-old driver and a 22-year-old passenger, were not injured in the incident. Authorities have also reported that they do not believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. As investigators work to establish the full sequence of events, the focus for Drew’s loved ones remains on remembering the young man whose life meant so much to those around him.

## Remembering Drew

An 18-year-old life is a story that should have been much longer.

Drew was at an age when dreams are beginning to take shape, possibilities seem endless, and the future is filled with opportunities. There should have been more birthdays, more family gatherings, more conversations with friends, more milestones, and countless ordinary moments that become precious memories over time.

Instead, those who loved Drew are now left with memories of the moments they shared with him and the knowledge that they will never have the opportunity to create new ones.

Grief following the loss of someone so young can be especially difficult. There is often a painful sense of everything that might have been—the goals that may never be reached, the places that may never be visited, and the experiences that will now exist only in the imagination of those who cared for him.

But while Drew’s life was tragically brief, its value cannot be measured by the number of years he was given. A person’s impact is found in the lives they touch, the memories they create, and the love they leave behind.

Those memories now become part of Drew’s legacy.

## A Community Remembering

News of Drew’s passing is a painful loss for Eden Prairie and for everyone connected to him. In times like these, communities often come together to support grieving families, offering prayers, condolences, kindness, and a reminder that they do not have to face their sorrow alone.

For Drew’s family and friends, the days ahead may bring waves of sadness, disbelief, and countless questions. There is no single way to grieve, and there is no timeline for healing from the loss of someone so young.

May those closest to Drew find comfort in the memories they shared with him. May the stories they tell, the photographs they keep, and the moments they remember help preserve the person he was beyond the circumstances of his passing.

Though Drew can no longer be with those who loved him in person, his memory can continue through every life he touched.

## Gone Too Soon, Never Forgotten

Drew Vonfisher was only 18 years old.

He had so much ahead of him, and his sudden passing has created a void that words cannot adequately describe. For his family, friends, classmates, neighbors, and everyone who knew him, his absence will be deeply felt.

May Drew be remembered not simply for the tragic circumstances surrounding his death, but for his life—for the person he was, the memories he created, and the love shared with those around him.

May his family be surrounded by compassion and support during this heartbreaking time. May his friends find strength in one another as they remember the moments they shared. And may everyone who knew Drew carry his memory forward.

Rest peacefully, Drew Vonfisher.

Your time here was far too short, but your memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.

Gone too soon.
