At just 18 years old, she had so much of life still ahead of her, with countless possibilities, dreams, experiences, and memories yet to be made.

According to the Maryland State Police, the crash happened at approximately 4 p.m. on August 11 on Church Creek Road in Cambridge. Investigators said a Ford Explorer was traveling south on Church Creek Road as it approached a left-hand curve when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle lost control. The vehicle then left the roadway and overturned.

Alivea, who was driving the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The roadway was closed for approximately two hours as emergency personnel and investigators responded to the scene and worked to determine what had happened. The Maryland State Police investigation remains ongoing.

While investigators work to understand the circumstances surrounding the crash, those who loved Alivea are left to face the much more difficult reality of losing someone so young.

At 18, Alivea stood at the beginning of adulthood. She had a lifetime of opportunities ahead of her and countless chapters that had yet to be written. Her sudden passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how precious and unpredictable life can be.

To her family, Alivea was far more than the young woman identified in a police report. She was someone deeply loved and cherished. She was a daughter, a family member, a friend, and a person whose presence brought meaning to the lives of those around her.

The memories she created during her 18 years will now become treasured pieces of her family’s story. The sound of her voice, her smile, the conversations she shared, the moments of laughter, and the everyday experiences that once seemed ordinary may become some of the most precious memories her loved ones carry forward.

Grief after a sudden loss can be overwhelming. There is no single way to mourn, and there is no timetable for healing. In the days and weeks ahead, Alivea’s loved ones may find themselves remembering different moments of her life and wishing for more time. Those feelings are a reflection of the love and connection she shared with the people around her.

Although her life was far too short, the impact of a person cannot be measured only by the number of years they lived. A life is also measured by the hearts touched, the friendships formed, the love given and received, and the memories that remain after someone is gone.

Alivea’s story will now live on through the people who knew her.

For her family, we offer our deepest condolences during this unimaginably difficult time. May they find strength in one another and comfort in the memories of the young woman they loved so dearly. May friends and members of the Cambridge community surround them with compassion and support as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

We also remember everyone affected by this tragedy and the emergency personnel and investigators who responded to the scene.

Sometimes, words are not enough to ease the pain of losing someone so young. But remembering Alivea allows her life to be honored beyond the circumstances of the tragedy. She was here. She was loved. She mattered. And she will not be forgotten.

May the memories of Alivea bring comfort during moments of sorrow. May her family find peace in knowing how deeply she was loved, and may the people who knew her continue to speak her name and remember the moments that made her special.

Rest peacefully, Alivea Todd.

Your journey was far too short, and there were still so many chapters left unwritten. Yet the memories you created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.

May you be remembered not only for the heartbreaking circumstances of your passing, but for the young woman you were and the life you shared with those around you.

In loving memory of Alivea Todd, 18. May she rest in peace, and may her memory forever remain a blessing to her family, friends, and community.

In Loving Memory of Alivea Todd With profound sadness, we remember Alivea Todd, an 18-year-old young woman from Cambridge, Maryland, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating crash on Tuesday, August 11.
