With broken hearts and profound sorrow, we remember and honor the life of LuVenya Knight, a beautiful 15-year-old young lady from Irwinton, Georgia, whose life was tragically and senselessly taken far too soon on June 19, 2026.<\/p>\n

The loss of a child is a pain that words can scarcely describe. For LuVenya\u2019s family, friends, classmates, and all who knew and loved her, this heartbreaking tragedy has left an unimaginable void that can never truly be filled. At just 15 years old, LuVenya had her entire future ahead of her. She was at an age filled with dreams, aspirations, and countless possibilities. Her life should have been filled with milestones yet to come, cherished memories waiting to be made, and opportunities to grow into the remarkable woman she was destined to become.<\/p>\n

According to authorities, deputies with the Washington County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to a residence on Hagan Circle outside of Tennille at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, after receiving reports that a female had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered LuVenya unconscious and not breathing inside the residence. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel, she was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n

Authorities stated that Kermarion Markel Washington, 22, of Tennille, was taken into custody shortly after the incident and was subsequently arrested. He is currently being held at the Washington County Jail pending a bond hearing in Washington County Superior Court. Investigators have charged him with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, felony murder, malice murder, child molestation, and statutory rape. The Washington County Sheriff\u2019s Office, assisted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, continues to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding LuVenya\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

While the legal process moves forward, the focus of those who loved LuVenya remains on remembering the precious life that was lost. She was more than a headline, more than a case number, and more than the circumstances surrounding her death.
