According to Connecticut State Police, the tragic crash occurred at approximately 2:55 p.m. on Interstate 291 westbound near the Exit 2 off-ramp in South Windsor. Investigators reported that Kennedy was driving a 2006 Lexus RX 400 Hybrid SUV westbound behind a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer traveling in the right lane. For reasons that remain under investigation, the Lexus collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer.<\/p>\n
