Despite the tireless efforts of doctors and medical staff, Hannah later succumbed to the injuries she sustained in the crash.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 31-year-old Charles Medina, had passed two bicyclists traveling along FM 159. Investigators said that after passing the cyclists, Medina stopped his vehicle, reversed, and struck one of the bicyclists. Authorities believe the incident was isolated, and the investigation remains active as detectives continue collecting evidence and reviewing all available information to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

Charles Medina was arrested and charged with manslaughter. He was transported to the Brazos County Detention Center without incident.
