Today, our hearts are heavy as we remember three lives that were tragically taken far too soon. We honor the memories of Nansi G. Fuentes Zambrano, Dena M. Silcox, and Adam J. Wilwerding, whose passing has left their families, friends, coworkers, and the entire St. Paul community in profound sorrow.

According to authorities, officers with the St. Paul Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on Monday afternoon at an apartment complex on the 1500 block of St. Paul Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered three individuals who had tragically lost their lives inside the leasing office area. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner later identified the victims as Nansi G. Fuentes Zambrano, 25, of Inver Grove Heights; Dena M. Silcox, 56, of St. Paul; and Adam J. Wilwerding, 43, of Oakdale. Authorities have since announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the investigation, which remains ongoing.

While the investigation continues, today is not only about the circumstances of this heartbreaking tragedy—it is about remembering three individuals whose lives mattered. Each of them had a unique story, dreams for the future, relationships they cherished, and people who loved them deeply. Their absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled.
