In Loving Memory of Jeremy D’Juan Gardner

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we remember the life of Jeremy D’Juan Gardner, a 37-year-old resident of Pulaski, Virginia, whose life was tragically cut short on Saturday, July 25, 2026. His passing has left his family, friends, and the entire Pulaski community grieving an unimaginable loss.

According to the Pulaski Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Culpepper Street after receiving reports of a shooting. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found Jeremy suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel from Giles EMS responded quickly and immediately began lifesaving efforts in hopes of saving his life. Despite their dedication and urgent medical care, Jeremy sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following the tragic incident, members of the Pulaski Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to process the scene and begin the investigation into Jeremy Gardner’s death. Detectives carefully gathered evidence, interviewed witnesses, and worked diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking event.

As a result of the investigation, authorities arrested Cory Dwain Perry, 40, of Pulaski. Perry has been charged with First-Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Armed Dangerous Felonies. He was booked into the Giles County Jail, where he is being held without bond. Investigators have indicated that additional charges or arrests may be possible as the investigation continues.

The case is being led by Detective Sergeant Keith Crabtree of the Pulaski Police Department. Officials continue to gather evidence and pursue every available lead to establish the full circumstances surrounding Jeremy’s death.

The Pulaski Police Department also expressed appreciation to the Giles County Sheriff’s Department and Giles EMS for their assistance during both the emergency response and the ongoing investigation.

While the legal process continues, Jeremy’s loved ones are left to cope with an irreplaceable loss. No investigation or court proceeding can erase the pain experienced by those who knew and loved him. His passing serves as a heartbreaking reminder of how precious and fragile life truly is.
