In Loving Memory of Khisa Hhalille Williams

It is with profound sadness that we remember Khisa Hhalille Williams, 54, of Wilson, whose life was tragically cut short on Saturday, August 15, 2026, following a shooting that police are investigating as a homicide.

According to the Wilson Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 8:52 a.m. to 4945 Raleigh Road Parkway after receiving a report of a domestic dispute in progress. While officers were on their way to the location, Wilson County Emergency Communications advised them that a woman had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found Khisa Hhalille Williams suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers and emergency responders worked to address the situation, and Williams was transported for medical treatment. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Her passing has left a family, friends, and members of the Wilson community facing a heartbreaking loss. A morning that began as an ordinary day became a devastating moment for those who knew and loved her.

Police said the incident occurred in a parking lot near the fuel pumps of a Shell gas station, located in front of the Quality Inn and Suites Wilson I-95 near the intersection of Raleigh Road Parkway and Interstate 95. The area was secured by law enforcement as investigators worked to gather evidence and determine exactly what happened.

The gas station was closed Saturday while police processed the scene. Wilson Fire/Rescue Services and Wilson County Emergency Medical Services also responded as authorities worked to assist and investigate.

According to police, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and detectives are treating Williams’ death as a homicide. Investigators are continuing to work to establish the events leading up to the shooting and determine the circumstances that resulted in the loss of her life.

For those who knew Khisa, however, she was far more than the victim identified in an official report. She was a person with her own story, relationships, memories, hopes, and dreams. She was someone whose presence mattered to the people around her.

The loss of a loved one under such sudden and tragic circumstances can be especially difficult. There is often no opportunity to prepare for the emptiness that follows. Families can be left trying to understand how someone who was here only moments before can suddenly be gone.

In the days ahead, those closest to Khisa may find themselves remembering the little things that made her special—the conversations they shared, the laughter, the familiar moments, and the memories created throughout her life. Those memories become especially meaningful during times of grief.

While the investigation continues, the community is encouraged to allow law enforcement to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding this tragedy. It is important that information be confirmed through investigators rather than through speculation or unverified reports.

The Wilson Police Department is asking anyone who may have information about the case to come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255. Information provided by members of the public may help investigators piece together what happened and provide answers to those who are grieving.

For Khisa’s loved ones, answers may never erase the pain of losing her, but understanding what happened can be an important part of the healing process.

Today, we remember Khisa Hhalille Williams with dignity, compassion, and respect. We remember that behind the circumstances of her death was a human being whose life had meaning and whose absence will be deeply felt.

May her family and friends find strength in one another during this difficult time. May they be surrounded by people who offer kindness, comfort, and support. May the memories of Khisa bring warmth during the moments when the grief feels overwhelming.

Her life should not be remembered only for the tragedy that ended it. She should also be remembered for the people she loved, the moments she shared, and the memories she leaves behind.

In loving memory of Khisa Hhalille Williams.

May her memory remain in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.

May her family find comfort, courage, and peace in the days ahead.

Rest peacefully, Khisa. You will be remembered, you will be missed, and your life will not be forgotten.
