According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, emergency crews were dispatched to the area shortly before 9:45 p.m. Friday after receiving a report that a motorcycle and an SUV had collided. Maine State Police responded to the scene, where they discovered that one person had lost their life as a result of the crash.
The motorcycle operator was identified as Richard Ryan, 29, of Hancock. Despite the emergency response, Ryan was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the SUV was not injured.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation as authorities work to determine exactly what happened.
