In Loving Memory of Nacole Bartolet: A Life Remembered After Tragic Ohio Crash

FREMONT, Ohio — With profound sadness, family, friends, and loved ones are mourning the loss of 20-year-old Nacole Bartolet of Whitehouse, Ohio, who tragically lost her life Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in Ballville Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, which occurred at approximately 3:32 p.m. on August 17, 2026, at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and State Route 53.

Nacole’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and cared for her. At just 20 years old, she had so much life ahead of her, and her sudden departure is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary day can change forever.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2004 Saturn Ion was traveling northbound on State Route 53 when the vehicle attempted to turn left and failed to yield. The Saturn, driven by 23-year-old Dylon Sinley of Seville, was subsequently struck by a southbound 2019 GMC Sierra driven by 59-year-old Angela Ebbing of Troy.

Nacole was a passenger in the Saturn at the time of the collision. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel who responded to the scene, she was pronounced deceased at the location of the crash.

Two other occupants of the Saturn were seriously injured. Sinley and 22-year-old Leia McIntire of Wooster were transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for treatment.

A passenger in the GMC Sierra, 64-year-old Michael Ebbing of Troy, was transported to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The crash brought first responders from several agencies to the scene, including the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Sandusky County EMS, Ballville Township Fire Department, Sandusky County Coroner’s Office, and Madison Motors. Their response reflects the coordinated effort that takes place during a serious roadway emergency as emergency personnel work to protect those involved and determine what happened.

For Nacole’s family and friends, however, the investigation cannot erase the overwhelming pain of losing someone so young.

A life is measured not only by the number of years lived, but by the memories created, the people touched, the kindness shared, and the moments that remain in the hearts of others. Although the details of Nacole’s life and the memories she created with those closest to her have not been publicly shared, her passing represents an immeasurable loss for the people who loved her.

The days and weeks ahead may be especially difficult for those closest to Nacole. Grief can arrive in many forms — through memories, familiar places, photographs, conversations, and the sudden realization that someone who was once part of everyday life is no longer there. In moments like these, family and friends often find comfort in remembering the person rather than focusing only on the circumstances of the tragedy.

Nacole will be remembered as more than a name connected to a highway investigation. She was a daughter, a friend, a loved one, and a young woman whose life mattered deeply to those around her.

Her family is now left to navigate the unimaginable sorrow that follows such an unexpected loss. No words can fully express the pain of saying goodbye to someone at such a young age. The hope is that, in time, the memories Nacole left behind will provide some measure of comfort and that the love surrounding her family will help carry them through the difficult days ahead.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Fremont Post remains responsible for the ongoing investigation. The preliminary findings may be updated as investigators continue gathering information and examining the circumstances of the collision.

As the investigation continues, the thoughts of the community are with Nacole Bartolet’s family, friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking crash. They are also with the other individuals who were injured and their loved ones as they face the road to recovery.

There are no easy words for a loss like this. Twenty years is far too short a time for a life to end, and the suddenness of this tragedy makes the loss even more difficult to understand.

In loving memory of Nacole Bartolet.

May she be remembered for the life she lived, the people she loved, and the memories she leaves behind. May her family find strength in one another, comfort in the support of friends and community, and peace in the memories that will remain with them.

Though her life was tragically cut short, the love and memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Rest peacefully, Nacole. You will not be forgotten.
