In Loving Memory of Timothy Williams
BRONSON TOWNSHIP, HURON COUNTY, OHIO — With profound sadness, family, friends, and loved ones are mourning the loss of 49-year-old Timothy Williams of Greenwich, who died following a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Peru Olena Road and Old State Road in Huron County on the evening of August 17, 2026.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigating the tragic collision, which occurred at approximately 8:29 p.m. in Bronson Township. The crash has left a family grieving the loss of a loved one and a community reflecting on how quickly an ordinary evening can be changed forever.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Williams was operating a 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 southbound on Old State Road when his vehicle was involved in a collision with a 2012 Ford F-350 traveling westbound on Peru Olena Road.
The Ford was being operated by 18-year-old Spencer Brotzki of Monroeville.
Investigators at the scene examined roadway evidence and the circumstances surrounding the collision. According to the preliminary investigation, authorities determined that Brotzki failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection before entering the path of Williams’ truck. The two vehicles collided, with the Ford striking the Dodge Ram on the driver’s side.
Following the impact, both vehicles continued off the roadway toward the southwest. The Dodge Ram also struck two traffic signposts as the vehicles came to rest.
Emergency responders were quickly called to the scene. Despite efforts to assist those involved, Williams suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Huron County Coroner.
Brotzki sustained minor injuries and was transported to Fisher-Titus Hospital by North Central EMS for medical treatment.
For those who knew Timothy Williams, the circumstances surrounding his passing are difficult to comprehend. A life that had been lived for 49 years was suddenly brought to an end, leaving family members, friends, neighbors, and others who knew him to face an unimaginable loss.
Every person leaves behind memories that cannot be measured. Those memories are now part of the legacy Timothy leaves with the people whose lives he touched.

Intersections, particularly those involving stop signs and crossing traffic, demand the full attention of every driver. One moment of missed awareness can have consequences that last a lifetime.
The crash also brought together numerous emergency and public safety agencies, each working to respond to the scene and assist with the aftermath. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Huron County Sheriff’s Office, Norwalk Fire Department, North Central EMS, Interstate Towing, the Huron County Coroner, and the Huron County Department of Transportation.
The intersection and surrounding roadways were temporarily closed while investigators documented the scene, gathered evidence, and worked to determine the circumstances that led to the collision. The roads have since been reopened to traffic.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to establish the complete sequence of events surrounding the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not indicated that the investigation has been concluded.
For Timothy’s family and loved ones, however, the investigation can never fully answer the most painful question: why did this happen?
They are left to remember a husband, father, son, brother, relative, friend, neighbor, or cherished member of their community whose presence can never be replaced.
During times of loss, words often feel inadequate. No statement can erase the pain of losing someone unexpectedly, and no tribute can fully capture an entire life.
