In Loving Memory of Zander Leroy Hamlin
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we remember and honor the life of Zander Leroy Hamlin, whose life was tragically cut short on June 24, 2026, following a fatal single-vehicle crash in Duluth Township. At just 24 years old, Zander’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
On the evening of June 24th, emergency responders from the Duluth Township Police Department, St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, St. Louis County Rescue Squad, Lake County Ambulance, and local fire departments rushed to the scene of a devastating crash in the 6500 block of Homestead Road. Despite the determined and courageous lifesaving efforts made by first responders, Zander sadly could not be saved.
According to authorities, Zander was traveling northbound when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a large tree, reentered the road, and spun multiple times before coming to rest. Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in the accident. Officials also noted that Zander was wearing his seatbelt, and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor. The Minnesota State Patrol assisted in the investigation, while the St. Louis County Chaplains Service helped notify and support his loved ones during this heartbreaking time.
While the details of the accident are painful to hear, they do not define the life Zander lived. What truly matters is the person he was—the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the impact he had on those around him. Those who knew Zander will remember his unique personality, his spirit, and the moments that made him special.
