On the morning of June 29, 2026, what began as an ordinary day turned into an unimaginable tragedy. According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred near Mile Marker 42 on Interstate 10 when a westbound vehicle crossed the median into the eastbound lanes, resulting in a head-on crash. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical personnel, 78-year-old Timothy Head later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. 67-year-old Barbra Thacker, a passenger in the other vehicle, also lost her life after being transported for emergency medical care. Their families were notified as the community began mourning this heartbreaking loss.
Today, we remember Timothy and Barbra not for the tragic circumstances of their passing, but for the lives they lived, the memories they created, and the love they shared with those around them.
