In Loving Memory of Noel Samedy

In Loving Memory of Noel Samedy

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember Noel Samedy, a beloved son, family member, and friend whose life was tragically cut short on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, following a drowning incident on the waters of Lake George, New York. He was just 30 years old.

Noel’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. What began as a summer day spent enjoying the beauty of Lake George with close friends ended in unimaginable heartbreak, forever changing the lives of those who shared that day with him.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were called to Lake George shortly before 1:00 p.m. after reports of a missing swimmer. Authorities immediately launched a large-scale search and rescue operation, with divers from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the North Queensbury Fire Department entering the water to search the area where Noel had last been seen.

After an intensive effort, responders located Noel approximately 36 feet beneath the surface of the lake, bringing the search to a heartbreaking conclusion. The preliminary investigation indicates that Noel had been enjoying the day aboard a pontoon boat with five friends. The group had anchored about half a mile north of Green Island to go swimming when, during their time in the water, Noel disappeared beneath the surface and did not reemerge. His friends immediately contacted emergency services, hoping for a miracle that sadly never came.

The recovery effort was supported by numerous agencies, including the Lake George Park Commission and the New York State Police Aviation Unit, whose coordinated response reflected the urgency of the situation and the commitment of first responders to bring Noel home to his loved ones.

Although the circumstances surrounding his passing are heartbreaking, Noel’s life should be remembered for far more than the tragedy that claimed it. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his smile, his laughter, and the countless moments of friendship and love he shared with others. His presence brought warmth to gatherings, comfort to friends, and joy to those fortunate enough to call him family.

For his loved ones in Rego Park and beyond, Noel’s loss is one that words cannot adequately express. The suddenness of his passing has left family members and friends grappling with unimaginable grief while cherishing the memories they were blessed to create with him throughout his life.

Moments like these remind us of how precious and fragile life truly is. They encourage us to hold our loved ones a little closer, treasure every conversation, and never take for granted the gift of time spent together. Noel’s memory will continue to live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that remains in the hearts of those who knew him.

As family and friends navigate this difficult time, may they find comfort in one another, in the support of their community, and in the countless expressions of sympathy being shared. Every prayer, kind word, and thoughtful gesture serves as a reminder that they do not carry this burden of grief alone.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to the first responders, dive teams, law enforcement officers, and all agencies who responded swiftly and worked tirelessly during the search and recovery efforts. Their dedication and compassion provided comfort during an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking situation.

Today, we honor Noel Samedy’s memory with love, respect, and gratitude for the life he lived. Though his years were far too few, the impact he made on those around him will never be forgotten. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.

May Noel Samedy rest in eternal peace, and may those who mourn his passing find strength, healing, and hope in the cherished memories that will forever keep his legacy alive.

Forever remembered. Forever loved. Never forgotten.
