After entering the home, officers discovered several members of the same family suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency assistance was provided, and Eric was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Despite those efforts, he later died from his injuries.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Eric’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head and ruled his manner of death a suicide.

Eric’s mother, Amy Blake, 59, and his brother, Michael Marro, 41, also suffered gunshot wounds and remain in critical condition. Another family member, Eric Blake Sr., 53, was wounded and was able to drive himself to a hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
