Indianapolis, Indiana — The Indianapolis community is mourning the tragic loss of Meghan Wiekerson and Corkney “CJ” Morgan Jr., both 36, who passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, in a devastating incident at their home on Audubon Road. What was meant to be a day of family, love, and celebration became an unimaginable tragedy for their family, friends, and community.

A Heartbreaking Discovery

Firefighters responded around 10:30 a.m. to reports of a small house fire. Once the flames were extinguished, first responders made the devastating discovery: both Meghan and CJ had suffered gunshot injuries. CJ was pronounced dead at the scene, while Meghan was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she later passed away.

Inside the home were their two young children, aged 1 and 3, who were unharmed. Though spared physical injury, the loss of both parents has left the children facing profound emotional trauma.

Later that afternoon, a high-speed police chase involving a white Dodge Charger on I-65 ended in Tippecanoe County after police deployed tire deflation devices. Tactical measures were required to extract the driver, who was hospitalized. Officials have not yet confirmed if this event is connected to the tragedy.
