In Loving Memory of Alliyah Dudley
The Clarksdale community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Alliyah Dudley, whose life came to a tragic end Wednesday morning at the Westover Apartments on West Second Street. Her passing has left her children, family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her facing an unimaginable time of grief.
Clarksdale Police officers responded shortly after 10 a.m. to the apartment complex at 1310 West Second Street after receiving reports that multiple people had been injured. When officers arrived, they discovered three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Dudley was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities said her boyfriend, Lorenzo Murrell, went to the apartment and shot Dudley and another woman, Natasha Tillman, before turning the weapon on himself. Murrell also died at the scene. Investigators are treating the incident as a murder-suicide.
Tillman survived and was airlifted to a hospital for medical treatment. As authorities continued working to understand what happened, the community was left struggling to comprehend the sudden loss of a woman whose life meant so much to the people around her.
