Brittany’s life came to an unexpected end on Saturday morning, leaving behind a community filled with sorrow and loved ones struggling to understand how someone so young could be gone so suddenly. At just 25 years old, Brittany had so much life ahead of her, with countless moments still waiting to be lived and memories still waiting to be made.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at approximately 5:02 a.m., about 16 miles west of Brackettville on U.S. 90.
Investigators said a gray Dodge pickup towing a helicopter was traveling westbound along U.S. 90 when a blue Chevrolet Equinox approached in the wrong direction along the westbound shoulder. The driver of the Dodge attempted to maneuver away in an effort to avoid a direct collision. Despite that effort, the Chevrolet struck the pickup near its front-right quarter panel.
The impact resulted in the Dodge pickup, the helicopter it was towing, and the Chevrolet becoming involved in the crash.
Brittany, who was driving the Chevrolet Equinox, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge sustained minor injuries.
