Investigators reported that Paul, a resident of Plantation, Florida, was driving his white 2021 Toyota RAV4 in the right lane when, for reasons that remain under investigation, his vehicle struck the rear of a trailer being pulled by a white 2024 Volvo semi-truck.
Following the impact, Paul’s SUV spun several times before he was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but despite their best efforts, Paul succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
