In Loving Memory of Andrew Morrow
With profound sadness, we remember Andrew Morrow, 29, whose life was tragically cut short following a devastating collision between a Mack truck and a train in Bossier Parish, Louisiana.
Andrew’s passing has left his family, friends, and loved ones facing a heartbreaking loss. At just 29 years old, his life held so much promise, and his absence will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop G, the tragic incident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, near the railroad crossing on Old Highway 71 at U.S. Highway 71 in Bossier Parish.
Investigators said Andrew was driving a Mack truck westbound on Old Highway 71 and was approaching the intersection with U.S. Highway 71. At the same time, a train was approaching the railroad crossing.
The truck entered the crossing and collided with the train.
The impact resulted in devastating injuries to Andrew. Despite the circumstances, he could not be saved and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two employees of Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) were also injured in the collision. Both reportedly suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
As authorities continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash, standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis as part of the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials will continue examining the evidence surrounding the collision.
But beyond the investigation and the details of the crash is a family mourning the loss of someone they loved.
Andrew was not simply a name connected to a tragic incident. He was a son, brother, friend, relative, coworker, and loved one. He was a person whose life had meaning and whose presence mattered to those around him.
At 29, Andrew had many chapters of life still ahead of him. There were undoubtedly plans he hoped to fulfill, places he wanted to go, experiences he wanted to share, and memories he had yet to create. His sudden passing has changed the lives of those closest to him forever.
For his family, the pain of losing Andrew may be difficult to put into words. Grief can arrive in waves, especially after a sudden and unexpected loss. Ordinary moments can become painful reminders that someone who was once present is no longer there.
A familiar voice, a favorite song, a photograph, a shared story, or a simple memory can bring both tears and comfort.
Those memories are now among the most precious things Andrew’s loved ones have.
They will remember his personality, his smile, his conversations, his laughter, and the moments they shared with him. They will remember birthdays, holidays, family gatherings, everyday conversations, and all the seemingly ordinary moments that now carry extraordinary meaning.
Although Andrew’s life was far too short, the memories he created will not disappear.
The people who loved him will carry those memories forward.
His passing also serves as a painful reminder of how quickly life can change. A journey that began as an ordinary trip became a tragedy that left one family grieving and several others affected.
For the two CPKC employees who were injured, we hope for a full recovery and continued strength as they process what happened. We also extend compassion to everyone affected by this heartbreaking collision.
At this difficult time, Andrew’s family and friends deserve support, understanding, and privacy as they mourn. There are no perfect words for a loss like this. Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is simply remember the person who is gone and honor the life they lived.
Andrew Morrow was only 29 years old.
He had a life.
He had people who cared about him.
He had memories worth preserving.
And he leaves behind people who will continue to speak his name and carry him in their hearts.
May Andrew’s family find strength in one another during the difficult days ahead. May the memories they shared bring comfort when the grief feels overwhelming. May the love surrounding them help them navigate a future without someone who should still be here.
Though Andrew can no longer be with his loved ones in person, the impact of his life will remain through the people he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
Rest peacefully, Andrew Morrow.
May you be remembered for the life you lived, the people you loved, and the moments that made you who you were—not simply for the tragic circumstances of your passing.
Your time here was far too short, but your memory can remain forever.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
Forever loved.
Forever remembered.
Rest in peace, Andrew.
